This intersectional feminist guide combines science-backed somatic practices and thought work to help you break free from codependency, perfectionism, and people-pleasing—and step into your power.
Do you say “yes” when you mean “no”? Do you end up in lopsided relationships, feeling resentful but not sure how to speak up? Do you feel disconnected from your emotions and your body – like you’re living from the neck up? Do you feel anxious, struggle with perfectionism and imposter syndrome, or feel like you’ve lost touch with your true self?
You’re not alone: Thousands of people, especially those of us socialized as women, struggle with Emotional Outsourcing—a term Nurse Practitioner and life coach Beatriz Victoria Albina coined to describe the codependent, people-pleasing, perfectionist habits that keep us stuck.
In End Emotional Outsourcing, Albina explores the origins—both personal and systemic—of these codependent tendencies, and coaches readers through a nervous system focused, science-backed program of thought work and somatic practices.
Groundbreaking, healing, and urgent, End Emotional Outsourcing is poised to change the conversation about codependency, and help an entire generation of women step into their power.

What is Emotional Outsourcing?
Emotional Outsourcing™ is the habit of looking outside yourself—often to other people—for validation, guidance, self-worth, and emotional regulation, instead of turning inward to your own knowing. It’s a deeply ingrained survival strategy, often learned in childhood, where you prioritized attuning to others’ needs, emotions, and expectations over your own. This can look like people-pleasing, over-functioning, perfectionism, and difficulty making decisions without external input.
Emotional Outsourcing™ keeps you stuck in a cycle of seeking external approval to feel okay, making it hard to trust yourself, set boundaries, or prioritize your own needs. But this isn’t a personality flaw—it’s a learned nervous system response, shaped by early conditioning and reinforced by systems like patriarchy and capitalism that reward self-sacrifice and emotional labor.
The good news? Emotional Outsourcing™ is unlearnable, rewireable. By building somatic awareness, strengthening your nervous system’s capacity, and reclaiming your self-trust, you can move from outsourcing your emotions to being your own safe haven.
Take the first step toward reclaiming your self-worth and breaking free from codependency, perfectionism, and people-pleasing habits. End Emotional Outsourcing by Beatriz Victoria Albina offers a transformative, science-backed guide to regulate your nervous system, reframe limiting beliefs, and rediscover your authentic self.
